Built in 1861, the Packer Mansion was the home of philanthropist, railroad magnate, and founder of Lehigh University, Asa Packer and consists of three stories and 18 rooms. Willed to the Borough of Mauch Chunck, it remained a memorial to her father but was not open to the public until 1956. The Masion was designated a Nationl Historic Landmark in 1985. Millbrook Village is a re-creation of a turn-of-the-century village found in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation area. Here the Millbrook Village Society showcases the way of life in a typical village during the 1850-1900 time period.
