Childs Recreation Site was formerly a state park, and features Dingmans Creek and its several waterfalls, including the second highest waterfall in the state. History runs deep here. Prior to steam and gas engines the stream was used as a source of energy. A 1.5 mi (2.4 km) round-trip along Dingmans Creek will pass three waterfalls as well as the ruins of a 19th century mill.
